| PROPAK ASIA 2008 in Thailand |
Ishida has participated in PROPAK ASIA, an international processing, filling and packaging technology event held in Bangkok. As a company providing total packaging solution, Ishida exhibited wide array of products such as 14-head CCW-R-214 multihead weigher in combination with ASTRO-S bagmaker demonstrating high-quality packaging, semi auto type CCW-NZ-106, as well as quality control system including X-ray inspection system, Metal detector, Checkweigher.
Demonstrated at the booth, both packaging system (ASTRO-S integrated in CCW-R-214W) and X-ray inspection system have been received keen interest from visitors, as a result we could received many beneficial inquiries during the show.
It is very glad to welcome many customers not only from Thailand but also from Europe or other Asian countries during the show and we hope this opportunity will strengthen business relationship between Ishida and customers in the regions.

| Ishida Total Line Solution at FOOMA JAPAN 2008 |
FOOMA JAPAN 2008, an International Food Machinery & Technology Exhibition was held at Tokyo Big Sight from May 27th and 30th. Under a slogan "A Total Solution of supply chain from food processing to retail store system", Ishida as a leading company of weighing technology proposed wide array of solutions for processing, weighing and packaging, inspection, distribution, and efficient retail operations.
One highlight was weighing and packaging systems. In order to satisfy various needs for fully integrated system in the market, Ishida showcased three types of solutions, including one new bagmaker. ATLAS bagmaker in combination with 14-head CCW-R multihead weigher was performing high-speed bagmaking up to 200 bags per minutes with its continuous sealing jaw motion. And, ASTRO-S bagmaker applicable for pillow bag and gusseted bag, was exhibited in twin configuration with a double-discharged multihead weigher CCW-R-216B-D, performing high output with minimum footprint. In addition, a new concept bagmaker ARES, exhibited as a prototype, was introduced as a high quality bagmaker capable of creating tight and high-quality seal thanks to Ishida's original seal jaw motion.
A new concept CCW-R-218WB-D was also introduced as a double discharged multihead weigher equipped with gentle handling and sanitary structure. This new weigher is oval and capable of high-speed output up to 120 bags per minutes of each side in minimum space.
Another key highlight was a solution of inspection in response to recent growing demands for food safety. Ishida proposed a wide range of quality control systems, including X-ray inspection system IX-GA series for inspecting contaminations by metal, glass, bone or plastic and checkweigher DACS-WN series with various types of metal detectors. Especially in recent years, the X-ray inspection has received high demand in order to meet high food-safety standard. Ishida exhibited versatile lineup of the X-ray machines that is applicable to various food configurations including large product or bulk product and that is equipped with sanitary structure or small footprint structure.
In addition to those individual exhibits, Ishida proposed a series of solution for food manufacturing factory, distribution center, and retail store. At a model factory line in the booth, including processing, weighing, packaging, and inspection process, Ishida factory management system was demonstrated to consolidate production including product giveaway, labeling, and traceability from integrated PC. For distribution after the process of manufacturing, Ishida distribution system with picking/sorting machine was providing smooth delivery of products to retail stores. In addition, a model supermarket was installed, showcasing Ishida's store management system for efficient retail operation that is capable of product-receiving, stock control, real-time sales update and analysis, item master change, etc., from a series of integration system including Ishida's label printer, ESL Electronic Shelf Label, and POS system.
Thanks to many supports, Ishida could welcome more than 3500 customers through the four-day trade show with many important enquiries. We would like to further enhance solution for a total system from food manufacturing to retail stores and contribute to high efficient operation of many customers.

| Inside News: Welcomed overseas students from U.K. |
On June 10, Ishida has welcomed thirty-two overseas students from CLANFIELD university of U.K. as part of their program of leaning Japanese corporate management. With the introduction from top executives they have learned corporate management, philosophy, stage of business as well as product lineup. They also visited factory and saw how Ishida's machines are manufactured and what is important in the process of manufacturing, including quality control, measure for safety and so on.
We are very glad to have such a good opportunity and hope this experience will be really meaningful for those students who are prospective.

| FISPAL packaging and processing trade show in Sao Paulo |
One of the largest packaging and processing show in South America was held in Sao Paulo from June 3rd to 5th. Ishida do Brasil Ltda., a sales and production base of Ishida in South America set up its own booth for the first time and showcased a wide range of solutions.
For this show, Ishida exhibited some of its main products including two CCW-R multihead weighers, two DACS checkweighers in addition to two sets of X-ray inspection systems for detecting foreign objects. In order for visitors to understand high performance of Ishida machines, we operated the exhibited machines and demonstrated for customers' demand.
As one of solutions for the X-ray inspection, we showed inspection variation depending upon product configurations or conditions with actual demonstrations, which was received special interest from the visitors. Also at the weighing solutions, a booster type multihead weigher CCW-R-216B, the two sides of which can be operated independently, was also received keen attention.
Through the three-day exhibition, we were pleased to welcome more than 250 customers.
Taking this opportunity, we would like to further strengthen relationship with customers in South America and continue to supply quality products as well as after sales survice in the region.

| ISHIDA’s technology of CCW introduced on a book |
Ishida’s combination weighing technology of CCW multihead weighing is introduced in a book published by Nikkei on May 2008 with the photograph of CCW-R on the front cover of it. This book chooses and presents Japanese medium-sized companies that are highly contributing to Japanese manufacturing industry with its innovative technology. The companies on the book were also broadcasted on a TV show (World Business satellite) through last year and received high reputation.
We are very glad to be introduced on the book and are proud of Ishida’s technology accumulated for 115 years. And we would like to further contribute to society by developing state of the art technology.

| INTERPACK 2008 |
Ishida has taken part in INTERPACK2008, the world's largest processes and packaging show, held in Dusseldorf from April 24th. Under a slogan "Relax It's Ishida", rather than making a promotion of individual machines each by each, Ishida provided a "Total Line Solution", showcasing its expertise in automation, safety and QC systems, along with high-performance weighing and packing solutions for a variety of end markets including fresh and frozen foods and snacks.
As a line solution for weighing and packaging, a twin-type ATLAS high-speed bagmaker was exhibited in integration with CCW-R multihead weigher, which can achieve efficient throughput with high-speed packaging up to 240bpm in small footprint for snack production. A prototype weigher CCW-R-218WB was also introduced as a double discharged multihead weigher equipped with gentle handling and sanitary structure. This new concept weigher is oval and capable of high-speed output up to 120 bpm of each side in minimum space.
Many other individual machines were also showcased, including a high-performance CCW-R-214-F screw feeder weigher designed for weighing adhesive products such as raw meat & poultry, raw fish, and cooked pasta, a strip pack applicator F-SPA producing strip pack for effective use of the dead space at stores, and CutGate weigher for high-precision weighing granules.

ISHIDA and president Ryuichi Ishida was introduced on a TV program of NHK that focuses on successful CEO and a successful company with it unique philosophy of business. The 30-minute program broadcasted Ishida's products and state of the art technology, the milestone of development of main product such as CCW multihead weigher, company philosophy as well as how Ishida's products make contribution to food industry.
We are very proud of being broadcasted on such a worthwhile show. We will consistently improving ourselves and flourish together with societies in future under our business philosophy "three way harmony"; good for societies, good for customers, and good for us.

Ishida Co., Ltd. is pleased to welcome 52 of new employees in this April. They have started working in various departments such as research and development, manufacturing, service center, domestic and overseas sales, and so on. | SNAXPO 2008 at Texas |
Ishida has participated in SNAXPO, the world's largest event of snack food at San Antonio, Texas, from March 2nd to 4th. At the booth of Heat and Control, our U.S. representative, we showcased our equipments and offered solution to diversifying needs for packaging configurations.
What caught the highest interest from customers was ATLAS-202 snack foods bagmaker, which is flexible, being capable of producing various packaging configurations such as block bottom gusset with clear crease line and pillow package at high speed. Ishida's another proposal was the F-SPA flexible strip pack applicator. This machine provides strip packaging, which can highly contributes to effective use of the dead space at supermarkets or convenience stores. It was also caught keen interest from many customers.
Now, the U.S. snack foods makers are required to develop high-value added products such as natural and healthy products with taking environment in consideration at the same time. To meet such demands, Ishida will keep making an effort to find solution and contribute to enhancing customers' production.

Propak Vietnam 2008 was held in Ho Chi Minh City from March 5th to 8th. Under the concept of "Total Solution from weighing, packaging to inspection", we exhibited wide array of products such as 10-head maultihead weigher, X-ray inspection system IX-G-4075, and Checkweigher with metal detector DACS-WN-012-MB.
We were pleased to welcome many companies, especially among food, pharmaceutical, and household goods manufactures. Particularly, the companies who export processed foods worldwide strongly require improving products giveaway while enhancing quality management and they paid high attention to Ishida's high standard weigh-pack machines and inspection systems.
As Vietnam is one of the highly growing companies in Asia after China, India and Thailand, we would like to further strengthen our sales and service network to provide high-standard customer support.

| Euroshop retail trade fair |
Euroshop, one of the biggest retail trade fair in Europe was held in Dusseldorf from February 23th to 27th. Ishida participated in the show for the first time and exhibited retail products such as a newly launched counter top scale printer UNI-7 equipped with a high-quality color LCD as well as SR-2000a, BC-4000, and price computing scale INS-100.
Welcomed many customers not only from Germany but also other countries such as France, Greece, Switzerland, and Russia, we would like to express our thanks for visiting our booth at the show.

| Sea Food Show in Kochi, India; Ishida India Exhibition |
One of the largest Seafood Shows in Asia was held in Kochi, India, from February 8th to 10th, and Ishida India Pvt. ltd, established as Ishida wholly-owned subsidiary in Haryana, set up its own booth for the first time. Taking this opportunity, Ishida India exhibited a wide array of equipments that brings new solutions in seafood industry.
For weighing and packaging solutions at manufacturing factories, Ishida India proposed "Full Automatic Glazing System" that solves difficulties in weighing and packaging of fragile and adhesive frozen seafood.
For quality control, Ishida India proposed the X-ray inspection system IX-G-2450,
which provides high-quality pre-shipment inspection of both packaged and bulk
seafood. The waterproof metal detector ID3H was also exhibited, which was received most attention from visitors.
For retail stores and fishery industries, waterproof digital scales were introduced such as IWB and IGB digital platform scale and IPC-WP electronic digital scales, all of which equip high sanitary condition, performing well even under the harsh operation environment such as fishery industries.
At this show, Ishida India was given an award of the best three exhibitors. We are very proud of receiving the award and would like to express our thanks for the all visitors and participants that supported Ishida India. We are going to further build up relationship with the customers by taking this opportunity.

| Inside News; Ryuichi Ishida talked corporate philosophy to international students |
Ryuichi Ishida had a meeting with MBA course students of Kobe University at Ishida Shiga Intellectual Facility. The propose of this meeting for the students is to learn business management and corporate philosophy from company President who has succeeded worldwide. The international students come from the U.S., France, Australia, China, and Japan. They were earnestly listening to how Ryuichi Ishida overcame several difficulties during more than 40 years President life and has led Ishida to be kept progressing. They made an Ishida factory tour and also got better understanding on Ishida high-quality manufacturing process.
We are very happy with providing the opportunity to international students, who are very prospective, to get a touch with real corporate management.

New development
Environment-friendly lead-free protective curtain |
Ishida replaces the conventional lead x-ray shielding curtain with new environment-friendly protective curtain.
Lead is harmful if it is absorbed in human body by accidental ingestion and also has the possibility of causing serious affect on environment. RoHS directive of the European Union regulates lead as a harmful substance and restriction on the use of lead has been expanding in other places too.
Previously, Ishida used lead as the best x-ray shielding material under the safety measure. Meanwhile, Ishida had been promoting the development of new material's protective curtain that is friendlier to environment and human being. Jointly conducting the development with S.I. Kasei. Co., Ltd., a comprehensive manufacture of plastic processing, Ishida succeeded in developing lead-free protection curtain with tungsten by own technology for the first in the world.
Ensuring the equal level of protection and durability to conventional lead curtain, the new tungsten curtain is about half of the lead curtain in thickness, which reduces the damage on inspection product significantly when it passes through. (the thickness of the lead curtain 1.0mm / the thickness of the tungsten curtain 0.5mm)
In addition, the safety of the used material is evaluated by a Japanese third-party organization as it complies with Food Safety Law in Japan.
The x-ray inspection system equipping with the new tungsten curtain is going to be released from January 2008. Introduced in recent JAPAN PACk, an international packaging machinery show, this brand-new curtain has been receiving high evaluation form many customers.

| Food & Packaging Show in Philippines and Indonesia |
Two international food & packaging trade show were held in Philippines and Indonesia from Sep.5 - 8. Ishida participated in both shows in cooperation with local distributors, exhibiting various products such as the multihead weigher, the metal detectors, the checkweigher, and the X-ray inspection systems.

We attended to the show with our local distributors CV FPM Solutech for the first time in a decade, exhibiting the High-speed 16-head multihead weigher CCW-R-216 and CCW-RS-216
in combination with bagmakers to demonstrate high productivity and stable weighing of the Ishida multihead weighers.
For the solution for quality control, the X-ray inspection system was actually performed with the sample
of canned foods, which could make an effective appeal of Ishida's X-ray inspection system contributing to foreign objects inspection before shipment. As a result, we could find out emerging needs from pharmaceutical manufactures. Welcoming more than 400 customers through the show, we could successfully end the show.
ASIA FOOD EXPO (AFEX) 2007 in Manila, Philippines
We participated in this show together with local distributors Asia-Pacific Packaging Equipment Corp. and Machine Technology Asia, Inc.,.
In this exhibition, we focused on promoting the semiautomatic multhead weigher CCW-NZ series, which can handle the "difficult-to-handle" sticky products, the X-ray inspection system, and the multi-lane Checkweigher DACS-CW available in two to six lane configurations. These showed that Ishida is providing not only net-weigt checking and packaging system but also the solution for quality control such as checkweighing and foreign objects inspection.
We have welcomed more than 1000 customers through the show, including many of the new customers. We could receive new inquiries from frozen fishery and meat producers for the semiautomatic multhead weigher.
We would like to express our gratitude for customers who showed interest in our products and solutions in both trade shows. We are looking forward to seeing you at the next exhibition.

| New product: Cut-gate weigher |
We released the cut-gate weigher "CG Series" for overseas market on July 11, 2007.
The CG Series weighers are installed for Japanese major manufactures of washing detergent, coffee, ingredient and other dry granular product. They are satisfied with accuracy, gentle product handling and easy maintenance of the CG Series weigher.
The main features of the CG Series weigher are as follows,

There is no mechanism braking particle and separating product.
* Autopilot weighing in whole production

The CG series is developed and manufactured by Ishida Engineering Co., Ltd., which is Ishida's wholly owned subsidiary in Japan. Ishida Engineering developed broad weighing and counting equipments for specialized market but for Japanese market only. Ishida started introducing Ishida Engineering equipment for overseas market with CG Series.
